Workshops
The atelier was opened in 2014 by Oyanagi Tansu Store, a long-established Echizen tansu store that has been in business for more than 100 years. Norikazu Oyanagi, the fourth generation of the company, who began his apprenticeship at the age of 19, is a traditional craftsman qualified as a “first-class technician” and pursues creative craftsmanship, including custom-made furniture, while passing on his skills. The workshop has a glass wall that allows visitors to observe the Echizen tansu at work up close, and woodworking workshops are held on an irregular basis. The company also sells practical and well-designed goods such as coasters and business card holders.
