Teramachi Street is located just north of Soja Daijingu Shrine and If you follow the road in front of Kokubun-ji Temple, which extends west from the old Hokuriku Road, you'll arrive at the western end where Injoji Temple stands. In the “Shōtoku Gannen Fuchū Map” from 1711 (the first year of the Shōtoku era), Kokubun-ji Temple is depicted on the eastern side of the street’s north side, while several other temples—Jōgan-ji (currently in Honda 3-chome), Hōon-ji, Myōkoku-ji, and Eikyū-ji—are shown on the south side. A record from 1851 (the 4th year of the Kaei era) refers to the area as "Teramachi," (90 households). At night, the soft glow from the stone lanterns spills onto the cobblestone path and the outer walls of the temples and shrines, creating an atmosphere that evokes the charm of the old townscape.
