You can learn about the origin and production area history of Echizen Washi, which boasts 1,500 years of tradition and high quality, as well as the lives of the people involved.
Echizen Washi is also characterized by its wide variety, with approximately 125 types of washi representing various techniques and patterns from the production area on display. In addition, there is a proposal corner for incorporating washi into daily life and a space where related books can be freely accessed.

In the special exhibition room, there are introductions to master craftsmen, including Living National Treasures, as well as displays of papermaking tools designated as Important Tangible Folk Cultural Properties by the government.
