A long-established washi manufacturer that has been making Echizen washi for over 100 years since its establishment in 1919. We mainly produce machine-made and hand-made fusuma paper, but we also produce wallpaper, Komagami(Paper processed for hobby or decorative purposes), and accessories in a wide variety of thicknesses, patterns, and colors. Among these, handmade large-format creative washi made by traditional craftspeople, which are an evolution of traditional techniques and enable two-dimensional and even three-dimensional expression, are sometimes referred to as works of art. Igarashi Paper Mill also attracted attention for its 「Food Paper」, a Japanese paper made from food, which was born from 「free research on making paper from food」, which the son of the Igarashi family started when he was in the fourth grade of elementary school. In keeping with the times, we are exploring the various possibilities of paper.
