Eco-Green Tourism Mizuno-Sato Shirayama disseminates information on the attractions of the nature-rich Hakusan area through hands-on programs that allow visitors to experience food and agriculture and fully enjoy nature.
The Fukui Furusato Teahouse "Shirayama Sanchi," the center of activities, focuses on locally produced and locally consumed healthy food, and is popular among female customers for its lunch (advance reservation required up to three days in advance) and cafe menu, including 「Shirayama Soy Borga」, a *borga rice dish using locally harvested soybeans.
The Aozora Marche, held on the first Saturday of every month, features a light truck vegetable market and sales of prepared foods, which also attracts many people from inside and outside the city.
