Katayama Sake Brewery produces “Kansai,” a sake brand representing Fukui.
Because the Kansai region of Nada and Fushimi was renowned as a premier sake-producing area, the sake was named “Kansai” in 1909 (Meiji 42) to signify a distinguished brewery of Echizen.
The brewery uses locally grown sake rice such as Gohyakumangoku and Yamada Nishiki, continuing to produce sake using the traditional methods preserved since its founding.
“Kasen,” bottled in the classic blue-tinted clear glass, enjoys enduring popularity among the local community.
In winter, enjoy the richly aromatic and full-bodied “Honjozo” served warm.
The “Ginjo Junmai Namachozo” is easy to drink, even for sake beginners and women, making it highly recommended in the summer.
