Kura no Tsuji

Sightseeing Spots

Directly across at a diagonal from Soja Daijingu Shrine lies an area known as "Kura no Tsuji," where rows of white-walled storehouses stand side by side. Since the Edo period, this area thrived as a relay hub for goods moving from the Kansai region to Hokuriku, with storehouses belonging to various merchants standing in a row. Today, as part of the city's revitalization efforts, the area has been renovated and has become a new landmark in the city known as Kura no Tsuji. Some of the storehouses have been renovated into spaces such as Japanese restaurants, bars, izakayas, and cafés.
