The Ajimano area, associated with Emperor Keitai, also has a deep connection to the “Manyoshu,” which gained attention with the announcement of the new era name, “Reiwa.” In Ajimano-en, along with a statue of Emperor Keitai titled the Hanagatami Statue, visitors can find monuments inscribed with the sōmonka (mutual love poems) of Nakatomi no Yakamori and Sano no Otogami no Otome, two prominent poets featured in the Manyoshu. While strolling through the garden, one can enjoy seasonal flowers as well as plants that appear in the Manyoshu. The premises include a dining area called “Manyoan” and the "Former Taniguchi Family Residence," which is designated as an important cultural property by the national government.
